With its origins in the 1870’s, Johnnie Walker Black Label is regarded by experts as the ultimate Scotch deluxe whisky, the benchmark by which all others are measured. Johnnie Walker Black Label goes back to when John’s son Alexander took over the company in 1857. Realising the genius and untapped potential of his father’s blends, he focused on revamping the whisky side of the business. He drew inspiration from his father’s smoky signature style and in 1867 he copyrighted ‘Old Highland Whisky’, which is the originator of today’s world famous Johnnie Walker Black Label.

The world of whiskey is a complex network of flavors, grains, and distillation processes that span along a number of countries, with Scotland probably being the most famous of all, creating confusion between Scotch and Whiskey which shouldn’t really exist because when you order Scotch, you’re really ordering Whiskey from Scotland. This wide market ensures that almost all whiskey fans will find a brand or type that they prefer and, when asked, every whiskey connoisseur has a pointed opinion on which is the best whiskey.
